There are many types of armor. You've got your standard knight in shining variety, your futuristic impermeable armor complete with ray gun (or phases, if that's how you roll) and then there's sequins. Sequins as body protection you ask? Alright maybe for Shera or Gem. She is truly, truly truly outrageous after all. Doria knew logically that her sequins wouldn't stop bullets or even a butter knife, but somehow a little extra shine made her feel invincible, confident and beautiful. It even made her feel a little mysterious. She knew the people around her in the club, restaurant or hell even the gas station wondered why she was so dressed up. Was she off to a party, or perhaps just getting home? In a million years they would never guess the truth-it took her three years to make it past her mailbox after a first date that went very wrong very quickly. For a long time she thought the more she blended in to her surroundings the safer she would be. Then one day she realized it was those that didn't fear to draw attention to themselves that truly intimidated. She rounded the corner to the nearest boutique, grabbed a purple tank with horizontal sequins across the front and never looked back. Shining armor indeed!
